Office Garden
We
were delighted to receive a package from the Netherlands Ambassador. When opened, it contained three lily bulbs
and all the things needed for them to grow.
The beautiful gift was in in honor of 'King's Day' that falls on the 27th
of April. It is especially meaningful
this year as we are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea
and the Netherlands. Constrained from
holding a big, face-to-face gathering, the embassy has created an 'untact' gift
that will emerge and grow over the coming weeks reminding us of our
relationship that has spanned many decades.
We are deeply impressed by and appreciative of this creative gift.
The
package included a gardening kit complete with three Lily bulbs, pots and soil
in which to plant them. It even
contained a small trowel and gardening gloves to make the task easy. Three of us were in the office that day so
each of us has taken responsibility to plant, water and take care of the
bulbs. The package also included a
ticket to Everland's tulip garden so the one who grows the most beautiful lily
will win the ticket.
Each
of us planted a lily bulb with love and care and we are waiting for lilies to
blossom.
